Understanding the Operational Environment of Power Industries

Power generation and delivery operations sit at the intersection of some of the most severe occupational hazards known to industry — high-voltage electricity, rotating machinery at scale, process chemicals, radioactive materials, and increasingly, the physical demands of constructing and maintaining assets in remote, elevated, and climatically exposed environments. For renewable energy, OSHA construction standards (1926) typically apply during build phases, transitioning to 1910.269 or general industry during operations — a distinction that creates genuine confusion in the field.
